  • To co-ordinate the provision of services by the Euro-VO partnership to education and outreach
  • To co-ordinate changes in the education and outreach material and tools, taking into account user feedback
  • To share education and outreach experiences with neighbouring disciplines

Description of work

  • Sharing education and outreach material
  • Taking into account whenever possible the multi-lingual aspect of the European Union
  • Gathering feedback from teachers, students, general public
  • Identifying topics for discussion at the outreach sessions of the Technology Forums
  • Identifying topics for liaison meetings with related projects
  • Participating in the organisation of the Technology Forum meetings : plan agenda of outreach sessions; prepare key presentations

Highlight: "VO and Education" sessions at Naples IVOA Interoperability meeting (16-20 May 2011)

For the first time, specific sessions about "Virtual Observatories and Education" are organised during an IVOA Interoperability meeting. Many contributions were proposed, and three sessions are organised. M. Ramella is one of the two conveners of these sessions.

Participation in Euro-VO Technology Forums

WP5 participated in Euro-VO Technology Forums 2 and 3 to discuss requirements from and strategy for Euro-VO eductaion activities.
